Thomas Jones – Partner at Charlotte Street Capital
With two co-founders, in February 1994 Tom started and built SMARTS, a market surveillance platform now used by dozens of stock exchanges and brokers around the world. The system processes in realtime billions of market events a day and notifies the exchanges of unusual trading activity in realtime (the needle in the haystack). In August 2010 the company, now with nearly 150 staff, was sold to NASDAQ. As well as investing in Seedcamp II, Tom has made a number of direct investments in London based software companies.
